Glass edge finishing and drilling, done before the furnace
Edges and holes are done here, on multi-spindle drills and edging lines. The glass does not leave for a second shop.
Five edge finishes:
- Seamed: quick edge break for glazed-in lites where the edge isn't handled
- Ground: uniform matte finish for lites that get handled at installation
- Flat polish: smooth, clear polished edge for exposed table tops and shelves
- Pencil edge: rounded polished edge for display cases and furniture glass
- Miter: angled edge for tight corner joints on vitrines and showcases
Holes, countersinks and notches are drilled before the glass goes through tempering. Send the hole schedule with edge distances and we'll confirm everything is temperable before quoting.
